Wedding Decorations Services Near Washington DC

Your wedding decor should feel like you, not like a copy of a Pinterest board. At Events by Bri, we design and install wedding decorations for couples getting married in and around Washington DC, from small backyard ceremonies to full ballroom transformations. Bridgette and her team handle the design, the setup, and the takedown, so you can focus on the day itself.

We work with DC venues often enough to know the small stuff that trips other decorators up: which spaces don’t allow open flames, which rooftops have weight limits on structures, and which loading docks need a permit booked in advance. That local know-how is part of what you’re paying for.

Decor for Weddings, Designed Around Your Venue and Budget

No two weddings need the same decorations for a wedding. A rooftop wedding downtown needs different lighting than a garden ceremony in Maryland. A 40-guest elopement doesn’t need the same setup as a 200-guest ballroom reception. Before we suggest anything, we ask about your venue, your guest count, your colors, and your budget, then build a decor plan that fits all four.

Our decor services generally fall into a few categories:

  • Ceremony decorarches, aisles, altar florals, seating design
  • Reception decortable decor, lounge areas, dance floor framing, lighting
  • Stage and focal decorhead tables, sweetheart setups, backdrops
  • Rentals linens, chairs, arches, and lighting equipment

Wedding Decor Packages

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all pricing, but we also don’t believe in leaving you guessing. Here’s how our wedding decor packages are generally structured, so you have a starting point before your consultation:

Essential Decor

Ceremony arch or backdrop, aisle decor, and basic reception centerpieces. Best for smaller or budget-conscious weddings.

Signature Decor

Full ceremony and reception decor, including table styling, lighting, and a stage or sweetheart table setup.

Full Transformation

Complete room design, custom-built structures (in partnership with Miragio Designs), premium floral, and full lighting design.

Every package includes setup and breakdown on your wedding day. Exact pricing depends on guest count, venue, and how much custom or built decor you want, we’ll walk through real numbers at your free consultation.

Wedding Ceremony Decorations

Your ceremony is the shortest part of the day but the most photographed. Our wedding ceremony decor work usually includes:

We build ceremony decor to match your reception, so the whole day feels connected instead of like two separate events pieced together.

Wedding Reception Decorations

This is where your guests spend most of the evening, so it’s where decor has the biggest impact. Wedding reception decorations we handle include:

Table Decorations for Weddings

Table decor is usually the single biggest visual element in a reception, so we spend extra time here. Table decorations for wedding setups can include centerpieces, candles, table runners, place cards, and menu styling. We can match every table to one look, or design a few varied looks (head table, sweetheart table, guest tables) that still feel like one cohesive event.

Wedding Stage Decor

For couples with a head table, sweetheart table, or a stage for speeches and toasts, wedding stage decor gives that spot a clear visual anchor. This can be a floral wall, a draped backdrop, custom signage, or a lighting feature that draws the eye there for first dances, toasts, and cake cutting.

How to Decorate for a Wedding: A Few Tips From Our Team

If you’re still in the early planning stage, here’s how we’d suggest thinking about decorations for weddings on any budget:

  1. Start with your venue, not Pinterest. A venue with a lot of natural charm (exposed brick, gardens, historic architecture) needs less decor than a blank ballroom.
  2. Spend where guests will actually look. Table decor, the ceremony backdrop, and the entrance usually get the most attention and photos.
  3. Use lighting before you add more items. Good lighting can make a simple setup look expensive; bad lighting can make an expensive setup look flat.
  4. Repeat 2 to 3 colors or textures throughout, rather than one-off decor pieces that don’t relate to each other.
  5. Ask your decorator about rentals versus buying. For one-day items like arches and linens, renting almost always makes more sense than buying.

If this feels like a lot to figure out on your own, this is exactly what our design team does for you.

Serving Wedding Decor Across
Washington DC, Maryland & Virginia

We’re based in the DC area and regularly decorate weddings downtown near Dupont Circle, in Northern Virginia, and across Maryland. Because we work in this area often, we already know things like which historic DC venues restrict candles, which rooftops have setup time limits, and which spaces need decor delivered through a specific entrance.

If you already have a venue booked anywhere in DC, Maryland, or Virginia, we can usually tell you during your consultation what decor will and won’t work there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most couples reach out 9 to 12 months before their wedding date, especially for full-service planning. If your wedding is sooner, or you just need day-of coordination, we can often still help. It’s best to reach out as early as you can.

A full wedding planner is involved from the early planning stages, helping with budget, vendors, and design. A day-of coordinator (sometimes called month-of coordination) steps in near the end to confirm the plan and run the wedding day itself. Many couples start with day-of coordination and realize they want more support, we’re happy to adjust as your needs change.

No. While we’re based in DC and love this city, we regularly plan weddings across Maryland and Virginia, and we also take on destination weddings outside the DMV.

Pricing depends on the size of your wedding, the venue, and which package you choose, full planning, partial planning, or day-of coordination. During your free consultation, we’ll walk through your budget and recommend the option that makes the most sense.

Yes. We also plan engagement parties and intimate pre-wedding events, so your entire celebration feels connected from start to finish.
